Where has Honest John gone?
I’ve been asked this question a few times over recent months, so I thought I owed his followers an explanation.
The truth is he became a victim of his own success, and we decided to close the HJ links. Those of you old enough may remember Honest John the motoring correspondent for The Telegraph newspaper, who I believe is still operating. The problem I had, was that our popularity pushed us up the rankings when searching “Honest John” on the web. As a result, as well as getting many questions on finance, I was receiving more on motoring.
Of course I did direct those motoring enquiries to the correct site, but in several cases, I also gave my advice, based on personal experience: – Mini v Honda as a first car, how to change the Prop Shaft on a Mk3 Ford Cortina and others too many to mention.
So, Honest John at Sterling is still here and happy to answer any questions you might like to throw at him (Finance related), but best to send it to my Sterling e-mail address – john@sterlingcommercialfinance.co.uk for the time being.
In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled for upcoming articles looking at : – Helping your management team fund a MBO and Should you baton down the hatches or strike out and acquire given the current economic turmoil?
Of course, any decision has to be the business owners but it is a minefield out there and Honest John is always here to help just give me a call or send me a mail.
