Sterling welcomes Tony Airey to the team

A warm Sterling welcome to Tony Airey; the newest member of the team!

Tony has over 39 years of Banking, Corporate Finance and advisory experience gained in the Corporate Finance divisions of the High Street Banks, a specialist Growth and Corporate Finance Lender and the Lead Advisory within a national accountancy firm.

Tony is eager to add to the Corporate Finance capability at Sterling and add his own skills and experience to the team. He also has experience of the Commercial Finance Broking arena and enjoys assisting clients with all funding requirements, not just in MBOs and Acquisitions.

He is well known in the Leicestershire Business locality and is a keen networker and accomplished connector of businesses. to specialist advisors and professionals. We welcome the opportunity to strengthen the Sterling offering into Leicestershire.

Tony is slightly concerned that, unlike many in the office, he is not a Nottingham Forest fan. Living in Leicestershire, Rugby is his preferred spectator sport, and he is a long-served season ticket holder at the Tigers.

Tony said:

” I am really pleased to be joining the team at Sterling and the opportunity to grow our client base by working with my contacts in Leicestershire. It’s a county I am proud to have called home for over 30 years and where I have worked for nearly 40. The business community is strong and vibrant, and I look forward to helping clients in my normal relaxed, but professional manner.

Above all I have known many of the Sterling team for a very long time and the opportunity to work alongside a well-regarded and professional team is very exciting.”

David Griffiths, Managing Director at Sterling said:

“We are pleased to welcome someone with Tony’s background, as demand for finance across the East Midlands continues to increase. He brings a wealth of regional knowledge and experience and an excellent track record of supporting local SMEs.

In addition to Commercial Finance broking, Tony will be able to add resource to our Corporate Finance advisory side, for SME’s that are often neglected or poorly served by the larger Corporate Finance departments and funders.

This new appointment also increases our strength and representation in Leicestershire, where Tony has many strong connections.

As the economy recovers, we are always looking to add respected professionals to the team, with the ability and experience to support businesses in the East Midlands. Our consultants continue to play a valuable role in supporting clients with their funding requirements”.
